Cricut Resource

Do you own a Cricut product?

Maybe the Cricut Explore, the Cricut Maker? Maybe you are hoping or planning on getting the Cricut Joy on March 1?

If you do, you will want to watch Jennifer Maker's YouTube videos and add her website to your favorites.

Jennifer Maker is a fabulous teacher of Cricut products. On her website, she generously provides the files needed to complete the projects that she teaches. Jennifer goes one step further and teaches you the steps she followed to create those files.

In her YouTube videos she teaches many things, such as:
  • how to use Cricut Design Studio to create designs and images
  • steps to complete a project
  • how to apply a multi-layer vinyl image to a surface
  • how to cut images larger than your cutting surface
  • tips and tricks that she has discovered
She also tests different products - Cricut products and non-Cricut products to use with your machines such as... can you use a regular office pen in your Cricut machine?
I have owned a Cricut cutting machine for years. I have used the Cricut design software for just as long. However, since following Jennifer and her well explained tutorials, my design knowledge and my project success rate has increased immensely.

If you don't own a Cricut cutting machine but own a cutting machine of a different brand, I am certain that you will also learn a few new things from her tips and tricks, as well as, her software instructions.

Please note that I recommend Jennifer Maker because I enjoy her tutorials and I have learned a lot, not because I am being paid to do so.

Cardigan

Even some of the most experienced sewers will make a draft/test copy of a new pattern to make sure that all adjustments are made before the final product.

This is a time when I should have done a test sample first. I was very confident that with a couple of minor adjustments to my t-shirt pattern that I could make myself a lovely cardigan.

It was close.

Unfortunately, I did not adjust the sleeve pattern to provide extra room for the biceps and I should have increased the width a half inch more across the back.

Well, my mother is benefiting from my "failure". She is smaller than I and the sweater fits her properly.

As long as someone gets to enjoy it, I am happy.
